While the city of Miami itself is home to only around half a million people, it anchors a huge metro area of over 5.5 million, making Miami the 11th largest radio market in the United States, according to Arbitron. The Miami area is serviced by some of the strongest radio stations in Florida, with over 30 strong-signal stations and dozens of lesser ones. While a fair number of these stations cater to the area’s large Latino community with Spanish-speaking programming, you’ll also find plenty of other formats such as Top 40, News/Talk, Sports, Hip-hop, Classic Rock, Oldies, Country, and even children’s programming.
Most broadcasting professionals agree that the best way to learn the ins and outs of radio is to learn the ropes inside actual broadcasting facilities, not in college or trade school classrooms. The Miami radio market offers real-world opportunities you won’t find elsewhere–and the RADIO CONNECTION can help you take advantage of these opportunities in ways no other school can.
What is our secret? Through our innovative mentor-extern approach and the hundreds of industry connections we’ve made over nearly three decades, we are able to place our students as working externs inside actual radio broadcasting facilities, where they are trained one-on-one by some of the best industry professionals in the business. This approach gives you firsthand experience with the broadcasting industry, combining a structured curriculum with plenty of hands-on experience. Perhaps best of all, working in real radio facilities gives you direct access to lots of other industry professionals, enabling you to make job connections you could never make in a classroom. The end result is you get a highly practical education while gaining a solid advantage in the job market. Our results speak for themselves: many of our students go on to stable careers in radio, some getting hired even before graduation! Enroll in our Miami radio school today, and you could be next.

This week they had me segue up the ryan seacrest show , and also put me in charge of doing his daily promos for next days shows. I am also being taught the mix bored so I can be a board op for them. I also did a little work in their scheduling program that they use to know how and when to play a track.
